Prologue

During august while sharing a screenshot of LinkedIn a notification for the dating app Hinge was noticed in the screenshot. But it was told be a mistaken notification that happens after coming to London. This was basically the first suspicion.

Then during late November 2025 or early December 2025 an account appeared on the suggested section.

This account was what told to be Friend S’s brother and he is quite young so no need to worry.

This should have rang alarm bells but it did not at the time for some reason.

Anyways, moving to March 2026 things got worse paths split. Now this is where the fun begins. After some back and forth with a mutual friend I got to know about the Hinge use, and this time it was for sure. So it was time to catch a fish. Time to setup the honeypot.

The Honeypot

With some OSINT and google dorking public images and information was gathered. Then an few social media accounts were setup to attract the bees or in this case the usual suspects.

The usual suspects were added one by one. And now this was time for wait before actually throwing in the bait.

After almost 5 days all of the usual suspects were in the honeypot and now this it was time for throwing in the bait.

The Bait

Again talking help of OSIT and some of public information we come across another public image

Upload it as a story and wait for the magic to happen. Within hours we have our first catch.

From here on you are basically relying on you social engineering skills to move forward and extract as much information as possible. Do not rush this process or there is chance of getting dubious information for the catch leaving. Take you time and try to extract as much as possible.

This is the part where you have to prolong the conversation without blowing up your cover. And as stated earlier try to extract as much as possible.

Extracting the main information is not that hard, throwing whatever you know and let them correct you. In this case we knew our catch is Friend S’s brother, so we let them know and if wrong they will correct and give us the correct information.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

We now have what we were looking for. You can try to extract more but that would be mostly random noise so we’ll leave at this point.

We also caught some minor catches but again, that was just to strengthen our case.

Conclusion

With the proof in our hand we have established what we came for. We no longer pursue further and let the world decide.
